Our Behavioral Health Services
At TrustPoint Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN, we understand that a person’s age and developmental level can affect how they are impacted by mental and behavioral health challenges, as well as how they respond to various treatment techniques.
For these reasons, we offer focused, age-appropriate services that have been customized to provide maximum benefit to adolescents, adults, and senior adults.
Adolescents: Our adolescent unit provides intensive, short-term services that are designed to help young people achieve the level of stabilization that will allow them to return home or step down to a lower level of care. Services for adolescents include medication management, medical care, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. Typical length of stay in our adolescent unit is five to seven days, depending upon individual progress and need. Our adolescent unit accepts young people ages 10-17.
Adults: Adult programming at TrustPoint Hospital is designed for individuals of all genders, age 18 and older. Our inpatient options include an affective disorders unit, a co-occurring disorders unit, a medical-psychiatry unit, a behavioral healthcare unit, and a physical medicine and rehabilitation unit. All inpatient units at TrustPoint Hospital are able to admit patients on either a voluntary or involuntary basis. In addition to inpatient care, we also provide an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults who have been struggling with certain mental and behavioral health challenges. Adults may take part in IOP services three to five days per week.
Senior adults: To best address the unique needs of older adults, TrustPoint Hospital offers a specialized unit for adults age 65 and older. This unit for senior adults is designed to help individuals who have been experiencing mood or behavioral disturbances related to dementia or other cognitive disorders, as well as those who have been experiencing significant functional impairments due to grief, loss, or other age-related challenges. Senior adults who take part in inpatient care at TrustPoint Hospital typically remain in treatment for 10-14 days depending upon progress and need.
Within these age-appropriate programs, individuals may receive personalized treatment for challenges such as the following:
- Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
- Anxiety
- Bipolar disorder
- Depression
- Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
